Located in Cornwall and South Devon, England, Falmouth is home to two very sheltered beachies and one reef set up that offers up decent waves on massive SW swells. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. The reef is rocky and a right, good for intermediate and advanced surfers.
What are the best surf conditions for Falmouth?
Gets good between waist high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. All levels of surfer will find something here. The surf here is not consistent (2/10) and will get crowded when it is on (8/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the Southwest and are massive. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 9 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
