Box Head is a fickle but special break located at the edge of the Bouddi National Park on the Central Coast across Broken Bay from Palm Beach. The wave is a powerful left-hander that runs beside the Box Head headland over a sandbank that can serve up super long rides for up to 1500m. However this sort of glory does not come easy, the wave breaks a few kilometres off Umina Beach and can be accessed by paddling from there. Perhaps the best option is finding a mate with a boat and making a day trip of it.
