Frigates Pass is a world-class open ocean left-hander that ramps up in the middle of a coral reef 22km out to sea from Fiji. This lefthander dishes up textbook left hand barrels as it warps and refracts around this “L” shaped reef. It’s only for more experienced surfers due to the shallow nature of the reef and the fact that you’re quite some distance from the nearest hospital should it all go horribly wrong. But don’t let put you off, this is usually a fun wave at a tropical paradise, well worthy of a trip at some point in your surfing career. .Often referred to as the “cloudbreak” of the coral coast. Smaller days offer long playful walls and the occasional barrel, while bigger days see fast and hollow waves that completely wrap around the reef. Expect hollow and very heavy left-hand freight trains when the swell gets over 6 ft.
Wat sinn déi bescht Surfkonditioune fir Frigates Pass?
Gitt gutt tëscht Taille héich an Triple Overhead Plus. Mir recommandéieren e Shortboard ze reiden wann et méi kleng ass an e Schrëtt erop wéi d'Gréisst eropgeet. Dës Paus ass gëeegent fir Mëttel- an fortgeschratt Surfer. D'Surf hei ass e bësse konsequent (5/10) a wäert oncrowded sinn (3/10). De Wand bléist am beschten aus Ost oder Südost. Déi bescht Schwellungen sinn aus dem Süden a Südwesten. Wierker op all Gezäiten.
Mir recommandéieren d'ganzt Joer Boardshorts oder e Bikini ze droen. Waasser Temperaturen halen tëscht 27 an 24. Gesinn d'Temperatur Diagramm ënnendrënner fir méi Daten op dëser.
